When Brighella pays off Pantelone with counterfeit wooden coins, Pantelone offers his daughter’s hand in marriage to anyone brave enough to exact revenge on his behalf.

Commedia dell’Arte is a form of improvisational theatre that relies on stock-characters, slapstick humour, costumes, props and masks.
